DMJM H&N (DMJM) is providing project management and construction management services for the Houston Independent School District (HISD). “Rebuild HISD” is an $808.6 million bond program approved by voters, to upgrade Houston’s deteriorating school facilities Acting as owner’s representative for HISD, DMJM develops and executes program initiatives with the objective of protecting and maximizing the community’s investment. Starting with 16 schools scheduled for renovation, DMJM conducted a cost-benefit analysis of each to determine the most cost-effective way to proceed. For some schools, renovation was sufficient to bring them into compliance with HISD standards, and DMJM proceeded to lead the reconstruction effort. For other schools, however, the cost analysis showed that the cost of renovations would exceed that of building a new school. Those projects were subsequently converted into replacement projects. DMJM successfully led the conversions, working closely with HISD to assure that budgets were sufficiently allocated and schedules adjusted. |
