For 10 years, DMJM has been providing the NASA Ames Research Center with on-site architecture and engineering services in support of the center’s unique and often complex facilities-related projects. Typical facility-specific projects have included aeronautical wind tunnel modifications; upgrades to flight simulators and centrifuges; environmentally controlled facilities; life science research laboratories; high-pressure air, gas, hydraulic, and water distribution systems; and ancillary support equipment areas.
In addition to the preparation of design and design/build documentation relating to facility construction, modifications, repairs, and maintenance, DMJM provides a broad range of services that go well beyond traditional facility A/E services. These important services provided to FEF (the NASA facility support branch of Ames) include preparation of construction services for selected projects, construction inspection, construction management, environmental compliance and remediation studies, plans and designs, energy life-cycle cost analyses, facilities planning, master planning studies and facility usage investigations, information technology–based configuration management, recertification of pressure vessels and systems, energy and power reliability studies, infrastructure upgrades, geographic information system maintenance, upgraded document control and maintenance, construction services, and electric and power reliability program services. |
