As part of a 10-year contract, DMJM has been involved on numerous projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). LANL is operated by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy.
DMJM’s design services are related to the implementation of a new master plan at LANL, including roadways, infrastructure, security, and landscape improvements. Responsibilities also encompass the design of several new facilities at Los Alamos, one of which is a new, 100,000–square foot chemical and metallurgical research facility. This facility houses laboratory, research, and support space for analytical chemistry and material characterizations to support various DOE missions. The U.S. Department of Energy is emphasizing the use of sustainable design measures in new construction. Accordingly, meeting the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED guidelines has become an important component of the services DMJM provides to the DOE. |
