DMJM provided architecture, engineering, and construction inspection services for the Weapons Analytical Chemistry Facility, a laboratory and office building located at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The facility houses a wide range of physical and inorganic chemistry research activities, and includes a biochemistry animal surgery and gamma imaging laboratory, a biochemistry tissue culture lab, a PAS spectroscopy laboratory, a weapons radiochemistry laboratory, an organometallic-actinides chemistry lab, Class 100 clean rooms, offices, and a biochemistry toxins and HE laboratory. Project criteria included the need for flexibility to accommodate changing research programs, minimization of the potential for cross-contamination of research projects, and protection of personnel from hazardous materials. Safeguarding the security of classified information was an ongoing concern as well. |
