Express Scripts, one of the largest pharmacy benefit management companies in North America, retained DMJM to relocate its offices, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities to an existing 93,000–square foot building. The building required significant modification to accommodate Express Script’s new technology (currently being patented) that allows it to fill record numbers of mail-order prescriptions. Moving well beyond traditional interiors services, DMJM was responsible for the incorporation of new infrastructure (such as mechanical and electrical building additions) necessary to support complex technology. The new facility houses 16,000 square feet of office space and 77,000 square feet of production space, and performs dual functions for the client, allowing the use of new automation and robotics technology to operate a state-of-the-art pharmacy that produces 60,000 mail-order prescriptions a day, and serves as a showroom for marketing purposes. |
